This is BOMBIN’ IN an explosive monthly newsletter delivered straight to your digital doorstep.
BOMBIN’ INto your inbox!
BOMBIN’ IN is a monthly newsletter. Each newsletter is packed with a single recipe or dish, unless I deem it necessary to blow your mind with more. Expect small-batch or single-serve recipes that keep things simple, ensuring you won't need an army of appliances to conquer them. Why, you ask? Well, as a single person in this world, I understand the struggle of trying to avoid a fridge full of leftovers. Two or three servings are fine, but beyond that, it's like asking, "Who's gonna devour all this food!?" I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this, right? And the best part? It's all free!
About Myself
And who am I? That’s one secret I’ll never tell. My name is not Johnny Bomb; it’s simply John. You can call me either. I’m fine with both. The name Johnny Bomb accidentally exploded into existence and stuck around as a brand identity and a pen name. It captures the essence of a boisterous, vibrant, and occasionally explosive energy—traits I wish I had more of. In my food writing, it means keeping things light-hearted, injecting a dash of humor, and ensuring a fun experience. Food is meant to be enjoyed, after all, and that's why the name stuck and why I'm embracing it.
I live in the Midwest. Some days I love it and other days I hate it. I went to school for design, but culinary school was my other choice I oscillated between the two, taking a break after high school to figure out my passion. Through a process of elimination, I ventured into design, but my love for cooking, especially baking, never wavered. There's something inexplicably therapeutic about it—a soul-soothing experience that captivates me. Although I didn't pursue design professionally, I've yearned for a creative outlet in my life. That's when the idea struck me like a grenade to the brain: why choose between design and cooking when I can blend both into one? And BOOM! This newsletter emerged as the perfect fusion of my creative/design side and my culinary interests. Who says you can't have your cake and design it too?
